Strengths

Big-picture thinking, go get em' attitude, and book recommending

Weaknesses

Can't stay on topic while telling a story

What do you like to do when you're not working?

“Read. I like all kinds of stuff, especially books about history, economics, personal development, and business. As for fiction I mostly read dystopian fiction & sci-fi. I also just like hanging out with Heather and doing projects together, like working in our garden and flipping used furniture.”

What was your lightbulb moment when it came to video?

“There was a moment when Mike and I joined forces to make a mini-documentary of the Allagash Waterway in Maine. We both contributed to it with the best of our strengths and it ended up being so much of a better piece than it would have been if we made it by ourselves. That was definitely a lightbulb moment for me.”

What's a personal accomplishment you're proud of?

“Marrying Heather. I think it's special to have found someone I want to spend the rest of my life with at such a young age (we met in high school, married at 20 & 21). Also, I think it's an accomplishment to have been able to travel as much as I have. It really helped shape my worldview to see so many different countries and cultures.”

What's a topic you can't talk enough about?

“Heather says I can talk about anything, and that's true. But, probably alternative education. I am passionate about independent forms of education outside of the traditional conveyor-belt public education system.”

What's the best meal you've ever had?

“On our honeymoon, Heather and I basically ate our way through New England and all of it was amazing. But my favorite meal was at a little restaurant called Isa in Portland, Maine. I don't even remember the specifics of all that we ate, just that it was so good. And they gave us free ice cream since it was our honeymoon.”

What's something people should know about you?

“You should know that if you mention to me a subject you are curious or passionate about, I probably have a book recommendation on or around that topic, and I will probably offer to give it to you (because I keep extra copies of all my favorites for that purpose).”

What's a funny story that you'll never be able to live down?

“When Heather and I were dating, I asked her (seriously) if June 1st was April Fools Day.”

What's the worst fashion or hair decision you've ever made?

“When my siblings and I were little kids, my mom took us to Super Cuts. They were so busy and understaffed they had a manager cut my hair, but I don't think he had any license or experience. He cut my hair into a literal square and I looked like a block. My mom was so mad she refused to pay.”

What's your Enneagram number? Do you think it's accurate?

“I am a 7. The enneagram has definitely helped Heather and I understand each other better, as well as how we relate to other people in our lives.”
